THE STORY

CIAO AND WELCOME ,

TO MY MOBILE WOOD FIRED PIZZA OVEN.

MY NAME IS MIKE , OWNER AND BUILDER OF THE MOBILE UNIT. THIS MIGHT SEEM CLICHE , BUT I LOVE PIZZA (WHO DOESN’T RIGHT ! ) BUT I ESPECIALLY LOVE WOOD FIRED PIZZANAPOLETANA”.

I WAS BORN AND GREW UP IN THE CAMPAGNA REGION OF ITALY IN A SMALL TOWN NOT TOO FAR FROM NAPLES, THE HOME OF THE WOOD FIRED PIZZA- MARGHERITA- FRESH CRUSHED SAN MARZANO TOMATOES,FRESH BUFFALO MOZZARELLA,EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL,AND FRESH BASIL LEAVES.

HAVING THE LOVE FOR WOOD FIRED PIZZA I STARTED TO MAKE PLANS TO BUILD AN OVEN IN MY BACKYARD. AS I WAS RESEARCHING THE OVEN, I FOUND  OUT THAT IT WAS POSSIBLE TO PUT THE OVEN ON SOME TYPE OF MOVING VEHICLE.WELL THE SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT MY EARS, HA!HA!

I STARTED TO GET ALL THE INFORMATION I COULD TO BUILD THE OVEN AND ANY PERMITS REQUIRED TO START A PIZZA VENDING BUSINESS. THE JOURNEY WAS EXCITING FOR ME, I WAS LIKE A LITTLE KID( MY FAMILY THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY AND GOING THROUGH A MIDLIFE CRISIS).

AFTER MONTH WENT BY I WAS FINALLY READY TO TAKE THE OVEN FOR A TEST RIDE.BUT AS EAGER AS I WAS TO GET GOING I REALIZED I COULDN’T DO THIS ON MY OWN .  IF I WAS GOING TO TRAVEL AROUND AND SERVE THE PUBLIC WITH MY GREAT PIZZA NAPOLETANA I WAS GOING TO NEED SOME HELP AND SO I RECRUITED MY WIFE NICOLINA AS THEPIZZAIOLA” (WHO WAS SO EXCITED WHEN SHE FOUND OUT) AND MY SON ANTHONY THE CASHIER AND FUTURE PIZZAIOLO. I ALSO CAN’T FORGET MY DAUGHTER MARIA WHO ALWAYS HELPS WHEN SHE IS AVAILABLE AND NOT ON THE PHONE TEXTING HER FRIENDS.(JUST KIDDING MARIA) AND I JUST HAVE TO INCLUDE MY OLDER SON MICHAEL EVEN THOUGH HE DOESN’T WANT ANY PART OF MY VENTURE , THAT’S OK THANKS FOR HELPING ONCE IN AWHILE.

AND FINALLY , I HAVE TO GIVE A BIG THANK YOU TO MY NEIGHBORS ITALO AND CHRIS FOR HELPING ME THROUGH THE BUILDING PROCESS OF THE OVEN . AND THE SAMPLING OF THE MANY PIZZAS .
